Maybe This One will Stick

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

To honor the anniversary of the blog moving to it’s own domain, I present to all three of my readers an honest-to-goodness 100% Tannish Design-ed blog template. Maybe this one will stay around for a while. I’ve build quite a few templates in the past few months, when I feel they’re as perfect as this, I’ll share them with the Wordpress community. Not this one, though; it’s my favorite.

The image is by the same people who did the the last one (the guy looking out over the foggy city.) and there’s a few variations out there by them of melted people. This image is so true to my personality: the music, the jeans, the leather chair and the black guitar - perfect.

And can’t we all relate to the emotional content in the image? We’ve all had days like that. Haven’t we, at one time or another, slumped into a favorite chair at the end of the day and *felt* like we were melting… Hence the name: Meltdown.

Yeah. You know the feeling.

It’s a Keeper

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

A unanimous consensus between myself and my (I guess it's) two readers, Travis and the ominously named Sister Atom Bomb (etc.); We all agree the current template is a keeper. So be it: Tannishblog is now brown.

If anyone out there cares, feel free to pipe in… your comments are always welcome.

Third Try at a Template

Sunday, June 25th, 2006

Here’s another look at a likely template for Tannishblog. The first one was hard to read, the second - too bland for my tastes. this one is both bold and readable. this one,mm3 1.0 by Michael Martine shows promise.

The original image of an orange maple leaf has been replaced by one of a city in a fishbowl. This image has been on the old hard drive for a while, I don’t know whom to give credit. The style of the original has been reproduced to keep the theme’s design intact. The “Illustration Gallery” page is not functional, but I could place some of my Bryce digital artwork there…

“The third time pays them all,” as my father used to say.

Again: let me know what you think. Thanks.

Jakarta Theme

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

On the previous post for the Terracotta theme, Travis mentioned he was having trouble reading the text on the dark background. So I scrounged about for another suitably Tannish theme, this one called Jakarta. I changed the top image with a wolf modifieded to match the theme’s color palette. The colors are less dramatic, more readable. The menu links point nowhere, so there’s a bit of work to do… I might tweak a bit more besides, but I’ll wait for some feedback.
Please: let me know…

Terracotta Theme

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

I’ve always liked earthtones. Besides, my nickname sort of demands I use them. While browsing Wordpress’ plethora of excellent theme offerings, I’ve settled on this one for a test run. I’ll be looking next for a suitably wolfish image to replace the masthead in appropriate colors. I’ll settle for approximate hues and tweak the template if necessary. A modicum of customization is needed for a uniqueness to the look…

Drop me a line: Tell me what you think.
